THAT DRESS

blazer: Superstar // dress: Mango // shoes: Zalando collection // jewelry: &otherstories
This pretty dress just needed to be in my closet. Every year before my birtday in March, I shop a birtyday outfit. During this shopping session, my eye fell on this beauty. Although I loved it immediately, I though it was too dark for a birthday dress and not festive enough. A couple of months later, I found it on sale. It was the last one on the rack in the right size. Meant to be.

Those who already follow me for a long time know that I used to be a girl who wears a lot of skirts and shorts. But this has slightly changed. When I look at this picture and older pictures I think it is a shame that I don't wear them anymore. Note to self: Buy more dresses. Although I do have to say that I feel like I become too old for the very short short. As stupid as this may sound, it is just not professional enough. When you would have said this to me a couple of years ago I would have laughed, but now I actually believe it. A true fashion intern speaking here. Enjoy the weekend!

STROLLING THROUGH THE BIG APPLE

pictures by anouk
One of my favorite things to do in a new city (ok, NY wasn’t new to me but you can stay in this metropolis for years and still haven’t seen everything) is walking around and getting surprised by everything new that you will experience. Just forget your map for one day and go on an adventure! (Or if you don’t trust yourself: I love the 100% books, which not only contain good addresses but also very interesting city walks)

These pictures are the result from my first week strolling through the big apple. I am always very fond of architecture and strange patterns in buildings. Furthermore, food and flowers are also favorite items to me. What do you like to see and do in new cities?

SEASIDE

sweater: Esprit // blouse: S.Oliver premium // pants: America Today // shoes: Sacha
One thing I pay more attention to while buying new items, is whether the item is easy to wear or not. This is probably one of the most comfortable ánd fashionable outfits I have ever wore. I used to think that this is only important during relaxing holiday days, like on the pictures. A little throwback to Denmark, but it turns out it is even more important during long working days. Since last week I am an fashion intern which means making long days. But, stay tuned, because I will tell you more about it later!

DENMARK

About two weeks ago, I went to Denmark with my parents. Just a peaceful holiday week in the middle of nowwhere. I loved it, because it was exactly what a needed. Unfortunately the weather was not that great, but in our cute holiday house we had a jacuzzi to get into the ultimate relaxing mode. Besides driving arround and being pleased by the pretty nature, we also visited a bigger city one day, namely Aarhus. If you ever go there, visit ARoS, the art museum of Aarhus, because that was amazing. It was also nice to see my parents again. Since I study in Amsterdam, I barely come home anymore, and ofcourse at this moment, while almost starting my internship in Antwerp, I will be gone for half a year as well. This mix and match of images completely captures my holiday, now it is time for the next adventure.

THE PAPER BAG

Don’t you love those days in summer where you have heaps of time to just walk around town, get a coffee, meet up with friends? For me that’s what I like most about holidays: time to do nothing. I believe that at these moments you relax the most, which gives you energy and inspiration to use during the rest of the year. We walked around Amsterdam Oud-Zuid which is an area with very big, old, beautiful houses and we gained a lot of new ideas for the coming months! Go there and have a look yourself.

FLORAL PANTALON

blazer: Gina Tricot // blouse: Mexx // pantalon: Zara // shoes: Sacha
Well, it became time for you to meet my beloved floral pantalon. I bought it last year in Zara's final sale for a very nice price and in the mean time it is one of my favorite items. I always feel comfortable in it and 100% Lisanne. I wore it to an internship interview, while working as VIP stylist, at my birthday, during school presentations and I wanted to wear it to Amsterdam Fashion Week this weel, but unfortunately I was ill at that time. When I am in a more relaxed mood, I combine it with a blue sweater, when I want to be taken seriously, I combine it like I did in this outfit post and when I am in a more girly mood, I combine it with a light pink blouse. Millions of combinations, happy me!

BYE BYE PRETTY VIEW

pictures by me
I think I haven't mentioned this before, but... I am going to Antwerp for my internship! I am going to do my internship at A.F.Vandevorst, a small luxury house and I am really excited! This means that I am moving to our neighbors in August. I found a room about a week ago in a nice student house with 44 rooms, this will also be a total new experience, next to the fact that I'll be working everyday for a company. It also means that have to leave my favorite city, Amsterdam. Of course, I'll be back in January, but in the meantime I am going to miss this view. This pictures are shot a couple of weeks ago when I couldn't sleep. Don't you love the view?

GRANNIES TREASURES

My grandparents have a huge house full with amazing things my grandpa brought back from his travels (he used to be a sailor). I like to snoop around on their attic, where they keep a lot of silly old things one could easily throw away. But every now and then I find an old leather suitcase with some amazing treasures in it…

pictures by Lisanne

My grandmother inherited these two bags (together with old gloves, scarves, handkerchiefs) from two of her great aunts. The bags are from before World War 2! The black one is made from crocodile leather and the original strap was so broke I attached a new one on it. It’s always an eye catcher when I go out. The brown bag is much bigger than it looks like and is great for shopping trips. Carrying these bags people ask me what the address is of the great vintage store I bought them. Well, now you all know the secret of my special treasures!

ALL TIME FAVORITE

This outfit post contains a lot of new items. I was kind of shocked when I checked my bank account and saw how much money I spent on clothes, which is barely anything. Sooo, when I went shopping, I bought some nice new beauties. Lately, I am really into basics, because I want to build a timeless and a more sophisticated wardrobe. An item that certainly belongs there are the shorts. They are my all time favorite. It is such a shame that I can't get them anymore, because they get a little bit old. Besides the shorts, everything is quite new. Happy me.

21 DINER

On the 17th of February I turned 21… Which is quite some months ago, but lately I finally had the time to celebrate this big event (AMFI life). It’s tradition here that your friends make a speech and a photo book (or they do a poem, a song) and mostly they make fun of you… I love chatting and eating with friends, so I had a wonderful evening.

The dress I wore that night was from Missoni. I bought it at the store I was working last year. It was hanging there for some weeks already and everybody told me I HAD to buy it, since it was absolutely an ‘Anouk dress’. I tried it on and yes, it fitted me perfectly (and so it happened, haha). Maybe you recognize this, sometimes it’s like the garment is made for you.

My earrings are another story: they use to be my mums. As a young girl I remember her putting them on when she went out with my dad. I used to say that the four hearts stood for my dad, mum, brother and me. When I graduated from high school I received a box with the earrings in it! On the back of each heart a letter was in scripted: P/M/L/A (Papa, Mama, Lars and Anouk).

My shoes were from Prada. I bought them on a sample sale some years ago.

GIRLISH

Have you guys survived the heatwave? Yes, I belong to the few people who are not really into tropical temperatures. When it is around 25 degrees, I think it is fine, but when the temperatures are rising I prefer to stay inside. Well, not that that really works with the temperatures of the past week. Anyways, I try not to complain and I even went to the beach last Friday! For me that is unusual as well. I think it has been two years since I've really been there to swim and sunbathe. But I really enjoyed it! Except the fact that I was running around as a 'sandman', cause I had sand literally everywhere. Even on my face, like a sand beard. I tried everything, but I just did not get it of my face, until I took a nice cold shower at home.

About the outfit, for me this outfit is girlish. It has been a while since I wore something like this, but I have to say that I felt good in it. The pictures are taken by Anouk a little while ago, so I still wear tights. I think some of you agree that there is no better feeling than walking around bare legged, so that is what I am doing these weeks. And actually it seems like my style is moving away from this outfit, but you will notice that yourself later.

BARCELONA2015

This post shows Barcelona through my eyes. I took my beloved camera on every trip we did, which were a lot, because this visit was a nice AMFI school trip. Yay for trips abroad. For me it was the first time in Barcelona, so that made it even better. I thought it was a nice city, but on fashion level it was not that inspiring. What I did love were the museums and the architecture. Oh and of course the market at La Ramblas. I wish they had fruit shakes for one euro in Amsterdam as well...

Luckily, they have enough other nice spots in Amsterdam. I finally have time to do something with that again, because I have summer holidays. It already started amzing. I am doing so many nice things lately. Dinners, drinks with friends, movie nights, girls nights, partying. I am totally happy. Maybe it becomes time to sprinkle this happiness to my blog and take you through some of these adventures.
